I am a Drill and Blast Engineer that is pasionate about the mining industry and the future technology plays in it. My current area of focus is developing Deswik Modules for clients that are tailored made to their needs and vastly increases their productivity.
01. About Me
Hello! My name is Lyon Momple, a Drill and Blast Engineer who thrives on blending engineering expertise with a love for coding. By day, I am a Drill and Blast engineer working at the Gwalia Deeps mine site in Leonora. During my breaks, I delve into developing Deswik Modules, aiming to enhance productivity.
My colleagues observed my enthusiasm and encouraged me to help automate tasks and improve efficiency for others. I'm dedicated to making work more intelligent and efficient by combining engineering and coding.
I am also currently developing an alternative to Deswik. Which resembles CAD, but with a focus on high multi-threading and robust design capabilities. This tool incorporates a potent node-graph based automation system for end-users, drawing inspiration from the likes of Blender, Godot, and Unreal Engine.

IBT Mining gained a significant edge with a custom Deswik module that simplifies surveyed hole data processing. Previously, the tedious task involved transferring data between Deswik and multiple Excel sheets. Now, everything is seamlessly handled within Deswik.CAD, reducing processing time to seconds. This streamlined workflow enhances efficiency, allowing IBT Mining to focus on strategic decisions rather than data management complexities
Deswik Process Maps
My Deswik process maps redefine efficiency in mining operations. By crafting modules that connect seamlessly to remote databases, I've eliminated the need for laborious Excel exports, streamlining data uploads effortlessly. Additionally, my innovative process map ensures reliable export of drill holes to ring setouts for surveys, saving valuable time by eliminating the 20-minute data processing tasks. Furthermore, I've designed modules that automate the setup of drill holes for straightforward timing plans in underground spaces. These customized Deswik process maps not only enhance precision but also revolutionize workflows, ensuring a significant boost in productivity across various facets of mining operations
